Scott Walker, governor of Wisconsin, has repealed a law called the Equal Pay Act from 2009 that created a path for women who were victims of wage discrimination to fight back against their employers in court.

This is one of those news items that has not only left me shocked, it has left me so angry that I feel everyone needs to know about it. I don’t usually do this, but I’m asking for a signal boost on this. No matter where you live - even if you don’t live in the United States -that fact that a governor is rolling back women’s rights in so many ways is terrifying and absolutely mind-boggling.

It’s also worth noting that Mitt Romney, who has previously supported Walker, deferred journalist questions when asked whether he supported Equal Pay for women. I don’t even know what to say about that. Really? Someone asked you if women should be able to take their employers to court to get equal pay, and you have an aide respond, and I quote, “we’ll get back to you on that”?
